3 Simple ways to diminish those unpleasant varicose veins
Let’s face it, varicose veins aren’t cool and nobody wants them on their legs. In fact, the condition may affect someone’s look and might even become a serious circulatory problem overtime.
Though it’s impossible to predict their appearance or avoid them, there are several things you can do to delay the vein’s development or worsening.

But before we tell you these little tricks, it’s important to understand varicose veins and why they happen.
Varicose veins 101
Veins transport blood from all corners of the body to the heart, and they do it against gravity through the legs. The human body design is high tech. It equips veins with a system of valves that open one way (to the heart) preventing downward back flow. The problem begins when the valves in the walls of the veins collapse, blood accumulates, and the vein swells and deteriorates.
But why do valves collapse? It largely depends on how strong the vein walls are, which in turn depends on genetics. That’s why some people develop varicose veins while others don’t. Other factors include long periods of standing, sedentary lifestyle, overweight, pregnancy and others.
With no further a do, here are some tips to prevent or diminish varicose veins.
Tips to control varicose veins
1) Avoid standing or sitting for long time frames, and crossing your legs
These positions restrict blood flow between the body and the legs. If you have no choice but to stand and sit for long periods, then try to do sets of flexion with the ankle and knee joints from time to time. This will keep the blood flow steady and help prevent stagnation.
2) Move your skeleton!
Try to do physical activities on a daily basis, especially leg exercises. Exercising strengthens your heart so it can pump blood more effectively. Walking or jogging 20 to 30 minutes regularly can make a big difference. If that’s boring, try dancing, swimming, or biking.

3) Get rid of those extra pounds –if you have some
More weight only means more tissue to deliver blood, which in a nutshell means more effort for your heart and more pressure for the veins.
