How TikTok Led Robi To Get Discovered by Feid & Drop ‘Pantysito’ [INTERVIEW]

Music consumerism is changing, especially the way new artists are being discovered. Take the story of rising Puerto Rican artist Robi, whose fragment of his collaboration with Alejo, called “Pantysito,” went viral on TikTok. From its organic viral growth on the app, Robi’s career blossomed and ultimately landed on the radar of Colombian singer-songwriter Feid. Within four days, Feid hopped on the track.

“Pantysito” already has more than 12 million views combined and is setting trends in Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay.

The collaboration arose when Alejo, who composed the song’s intro and chorus together with producer Youngcado, decided to play it during an Instagram live so that fans could react. Soon after, Robi wrote his verse from the Puerto Rico airport while waiting for a flight to Miami. The following day, Robi shared the recording of him with Alejo on TikTok, taking the social network by storm. The rest is history, and in a short time, Robi’s career has exploded to unimaginable levels.
