‘Nuestra Belleza Latina’ Returns For Season 11 But With Major Changes [PHOTOS]

If you’re an aspiring model or simply love binge-watching reality shows, then chances are you are well aware of Nuestra Belleza Latina. The reality beauty pageant has religiously aired on Univision since Spring of 2007 and ran for 10 seasons. Some of the most beautiful Latinas on TV and in the biz got their big break thanks to this show, including Alejandra Espinoza, Nastassja Bolivar, Francisca Lachapel, and Clarissa Molina.

After its eventful 10th season in 2016 it was speculated that the show was going off air. But because 2018 is so good to us, it’s coming back for an 11th season! The big news was revealed last Thursday by some of the past winners via a Facebook Live. It’s still unknown when the new NBL season will air, but what we do know is that MAJOR changes are coming to the show. Here’s what we know until now.

“No Sizes, No Insecurities, No Excuses”

Unlike previous seasons, this time around women from 18 to 99 years of age and of all sizes will be cast and continues—as always—without restrictions in marital status, if they are mothers, or in height. “Literally our north is to look for women because of their personality, their talent and not to judge in the first instance because of what they see when they enter a room,” explains Executive Producer Nelson Ruíz.

New Judges

It’s still unsure of who will be judge on the new season and if Osmel Sousa or Lupita Jones are coming back, but we do know that the new panel will also have changes, including an experienced communicator, a person who dares to tell the truth but without “bullying,” a man who admires women for their beauty, and a non-traditional model who’s breaking beauty standards.

Swimsuits are still in the picture

Despite the show being criticized about the models in bikinis, Ruiz assures that they play an important role in the competition. “We are going to see swimsuits because I believe that there is nothing more beautiful than a woman proud of being who she is because of how she is, period,” he explains.
