Meet Gretchen G: The Venezuelan Songstress Empowering Women With ‘Soltera’; Watch Video Here

Gretchen G, the Venezuelan singer who dominated the Billboard charts in 2014 with “Tu Princesa” (Feat. Gocho), premieres “Soltera”, a song full of energetic rhythms and very powerful lyrics, designed to lift the spirit of those that were once mistreated by love. “Soltera” is available on all digital streaming and download platforms beginning today.

“The song could not be more biographical, because I recently went through a separation,”says the young star, “I told Camilo Echeverry and Antonio Barullo, who composed this melody full of rhythm and raw emotion.”

“Soltera” was produced by DalePlay who recently worked with Jennifer Lopez on “El Anillo,” her latest hit and co-produced by Gaby Music, who’s nabbed hits for power players like Daddy Yankee, Ozuna, Zion and Lennox, Natti Natasha and Becky G.

In the video directed by José Sagaro of Film Heads, who has produced several successful videos for Bad Bunny and Karol G, Gretchen G descends from a black convertible car while proclaiming with her song that if she does not find a man that treats her right and as she deserves, she prefers to stay single.

“I know that with this song I will reach many hearts that, like mine, once lived with disappointment, but with these rhythms and brilliant lyrics, you will be able to dance and sing while they (the lyrics) explain that you prefer to be alone than to be with someone who does not treat you well,” says the singer.

The spiritual security that “Soltera” (Single) conveys, is very much in tune Gretchen G’sstory, who wanted to be a singer before going to school. “My desire was getting stronger and stronger, and at fifteen, instead of getting a “quinceañera”, what I asked my parents for was to organize my first concert. So instead of invitations, what my family and friends received was the admission ticket for my first show.”

Since then, Gretchen G has kept her vision alive, and although there was a small lapse in her career due to her separation, 2018 marks the moment not only of her artistic return, but also the year she will write her name in great big letters in world of music, leaving a permanent mark!
