Lucas Arnau talks Latin Grammys And ‘Un Buen Camino’ | INTERVIEW
With many years in the industry, Lucas Arnau feels honored to finally get a recognition from the Latin Recording Academy. The Colombian singer is nominated for Best Contemporary Tropical Album at the 16 annual Latin Grammys. He’s in the fight with colleagues Leslie Grace, Guac, Johnny Sky and Juan Luis Guerra 4.40.

“It’s exciting! We’re worked for many years, worked very hard for a dream that we’ve been constructing,” he told Pulso POP. “It’s very important for me to be in the same list as renowned artists in Latin America. It’s an honor,” he added of his first-ever Latin Grammy nod.

Arnau forms part of the nominees with his 2015 studio album “Buen Camino,” a compilation of his greatest hits, revamped in captivating collaborations with artists such as Carlos Baute, Gian Marco and Silvestre Dangond. “I wanted to do a different album,” he said, explaining that in the trajectory of an artist, there’s two trends: a greatest hits album and a duets album. “I wanted to fuse the two, so I invited some of the friends I’ve made along the way. It’s a beautiful album, filled with incredible artists.”

According to Arnau, whose biggest inspirations are love, his parents, the planet and stories that people tell, music nurtures the soul. “I want to spread happiness, comfort and romanticism with my lyrics,” he said. The 2015 Latin Grammys air November 19 on Univision.
