Latin AMAs 2019: CNCO, Ozuna, Christian Nodal & More Performers Confirmed
Telemundo announced the first group of Latin music stars to perform during the fifth edition of the 2019 Latin American Music Awards. The list is spearheaded by internationally renowned artists including Ozuna, CNCO, Gente de Zona, Farruko, Wisin & Yandel, Christian Nodal, Beret, Zion & Lennox, and Abraham Mateo.
Women will be well represented by Mexican American star Sofía Reyes, Lupita Infante, granddaughter of Mexican idol Pedro Infante, and the new female voices ofurban music: Colombian American Kali Uchis, and Argentine, ex Rombai, Emilia Mernes.
- Ozuna: Just made the Guinness World Record with four of his videos, which reached one billion views on YouTube. His second studio album, titled Aura, debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart for all genres.
- CNCO: The award-winning multicultural quintet recently launched their new album titled Que Quienes Somos, which includes the single “Ya Tu Sabes,” a song that features a fragment of Celia Cruz’ “Rie y Llora.”
- Gente de Zona: Returns after a historic concert in the famed Malecon of Havana, Cuba. Alexander and Randy are still in the midst of promoting their album Otra Cosa, which includes the hits “Si No Vuelves” and “El Mentiroso.”
- Farruko: The King of Latin Trap, and one of theartists behind the summer hit “Calma,” just closed his North American tour “Gangalee,” and launched the HBO Latino documentary, “Farruko: en letra de otro,” which is accompanied by an album by the same name.
- Wisin & Yandel: Three-time nominees for this year’s Latin AMAs, Wisin & Yandel continue their reunion tour “Como Antes.” They just launched the video for their single “Guaya,” which is part of their Los Campeones del pueblo: The big leagues, the album that marked their return as a group.
- Christian Nodal: Regional Mexican sensation and three-time Latin AMAs nominee, recorded his theme song “Pa’ Olvidarme de Ella” with Colombian group Piso 21. His hit, “De los Besos Que Te Di,” has already reached 77 million views on YouTube.
- Zion & Lennox: The Puerto Rican duo recently launched their new single and video “Guayo,” together with Anuel AA and Haze. They also continue their “Eighteen World Tour,” celebrating their achievements in urban music.
- Beret: Spanish urban music singer anda current viral phenomenon, became famous with his theme song “Lo Siento” with Sofia Reyes, which has already reached over 210 million YouTube downloads.
- Abraham Mateo: The young Spanish Singer-songwriter made the jump from Pop to urban music with “Se Acabó el Amor” alongside Jennifer López and Yandel. He is currently promoting “Me Vuelvo Loco,” a new song recorded in Las Vegas with CNCO.
- Sofía Reyes: The Latin Grammy nominee and Mexican American star is known for her global hit “1.2.3.” Most recently, she joined Spanish singer Beret on his single “Lo Siento.”
- Lupita Infante: L.A. native singer and granddaughter of Mexican idol Pedro Infante, is currently promoting her two singles “Ya Ni Me Acuerdo” and Yo Por ti,” both songs previously interpreted by her father, son of the Mexican idol.
- Kali Uchis: The Colombian-American Grammy-nominee, discovered by Snoop Dogg, launched to fame in 2018 with her album Isolation. She also participated in “Time,” the first posthumous collaboration of rapper Mac Miller.
- Emilia Mernes: Ex Rombai Argentine singer, who launched her first single”Recalienta,” joined forces with Darell for her new single and video “No Soy Yo.”
Singers with most nominations this year include: Ozuna (9) Romeo Santos and Bad Bunny (8), Anuel AA (7), Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga (5), Marc Anthony, Maluma, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Sebastián Yatra (4) and Becky G, Rosalía, Pedro Capó, Wisin & Yandel, DJ Snake y Drake (3).
The awards show will take place October 17th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, and will be broadcast live on Telemundo. The special will also air simultaneously on Spanish-language entertainment cable network, Universo and in 20 countries throughout the Americas via Telemundo Internacional.
