Kany Garcia has been making us fall in love song after song since her debut album Cualquier Día in 2007. Simply put: she wears her heart on her sleeve and that reflects in her music.
On her mission to continue enchanting us, the 36-year-old Puerto Rican singer presents her latest production, Soy Yo, released on May 18.

Featuring collaborations with Residente and Melendi, the 11-track album is home to versatile lyrics, Caribbean-influenced rhythms, and social songs to raise awareness on different topics, such as bullying. According to Kany, “this album is very complete.”
But Soy Yo goes far beyond the reggae, the bossa nova, the trova, and the pop ballads. It’s starting a conversation about self love and acceptance that’s much needed especially among Latinas.
“We’re living empowering moments,” Kany told PulsoPOP about the solidarity and union between women. That’s why, as a public figure, she felt the need to kick off a social media movement encouraging women to share a selfie without makeup or filters.

“It’s something that happened organically and at the same time, I believe that removing your makeup is a way of showing something that goes much further.” The #SoyYo campaign became a viral sensation, garnering the reaction of many celebrities such as Olga Tañon, Leslie Grace, Joy, Ha*Ash, Natti Natasha, and much more.
