Romeo Santos and Prince Royce better make way for Jonny Sky, who is dominating the music charts with his captivating bachata single “Quiereme.”

This Dominican-American is your typical boy next door, with his clean cut, hipster glasses and perfectly in place hairdo, but Johnny Sky has another definition of who he is as a person and an artist.

“I’m a clown, I just like having fun,” he told Pulso POP. “I love what I do. I love going on stage to sing, it’s my release. That’s where I feel at home,” he added about performing in front of an audience.

We can’t get enough of his single “Quiereme,” which is a fusion of bachata and pop with a hint of R&B.

And though his first record is indeed a bachata, Johnny’s music can be categorized as Tropi-pop (a mix of tropical music with pop).

According to the Dominican artist himself, his music is “romantic, honest and simply, wow!”

So where does this aspiring artist seek his musical inspiration?

Because truth be told, he’s making a strong statement with his music and his talents.

“Ever since I was little, Marc Anthony was at the top of my list. I do sing Latin music, but I’m into the whole American pop thing,” he said, stating that he’s a fan of artists such as Usher, Drake, Ariana Grande and Jessie J.

“I like looking into people who are a bit different and avant garde in their producing. I also look at vocalists to study them and see what I can learn from them,” he added.
