Montana told Pulso POP that this song is different than any of his other jams, such as “Unico” and “Moribundo,” because he goes back to his roots of an authentic tropical urban sound. “We took the risk with ‘Picky’ to look for something new and go back to my roots that are danceable,” he said, giving the example of music like that of El General.
The universal and catchy single will soon have a remix by Akon and Mohombi. “I’ve always dreamt of doing a collaboration with Akon. It’s a huge blessing,” he said of the opportunity.
As of now, the 33-year-old Panamanian artist does not know if the remix will have an official music video. “The important thing right now is that the song is a hit. Later on we’ll see if there’s time to do a video or if we’ll release another single,” he said.
Montana’s upcoming album will include various tracks, including romantic jams.
