Jason Cerda Invades The Music Biz With ‘Color Favorito’
For his newest single —which is, by the way, very catchy— Jason Cerda fessed up that he was out of his comfort zone and felt very nervous before releasing it. The up-and-coming singer even admitted that out of six songs sent to him by his producer, “Color Favorito” was probably his least favorite.

But little did he know that the uptempo single would become all the rage amongst his fans and in the radio charts. “It’s different, I don’t usually sing lovey-dovey songs,” Cerda told PulsoPOP —his favorite color is red, by the way. “I was nervous to release it, but people love it and it’s been getting a lot of hits,” he added of the love song which he describes as “somewhat of a personal story.”
Cerda, who began his trajectory at the age of 18 when he released his first single “Echate Pa’Qui,” said the road to success has not been easy. “The most challenging thing is getting new fans, getting people to believe in your music,” he said. “People accept what they know easier than something new.”
But that never stopped the 28-year-old Puerto Rican singer to follow his dreams. In fact, he says that the most rewarding thing about being in the biz is when people go up to him and tell him that his music has a special meaning to them. He also feels artistically complete when he gets on stage and people sing along to his songs.
The tall, dark and handsome Caribbean stud would one day like to share stage with some of the big dogs in the industry. If he could do a “Jason Cerda & Friends” concert, some of the artists he’ll gladly invite are Daddy Yankee, Pitbull, Juan Luis Guerra, Romeo Santos, Prince Royce and Laura Pausini.
