Voyage with the cast of ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2′ | VIDEO
Tony Montana, Tamales Calientes and El Monstruo are the creative Hispanic names that the cast of “How to Train your Dragon 2″ would give to their make believe dragons.
VOXXI jumped onboard with actors Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera and director Dean DeBlois, from the upcoming animated film voyaging the mythical land of dragons and Vikings.
In the second chapter of the epic trilogy, five years have passed since the heroic Viking Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) made friends with an injured dragon and forever changed the way the residents of Berk interacted with the fire-breathers.
The sequel to the successful 2010 “How To Train Your Dragon” film tells the story of teenager Hiccup and his exciting life in a dragon’s paradise alongside his rescued firedrake Toothless.
“I love the kid, I think he’s awesome. He represents this sort of pure refusal to kind of accept things as they are. He thinks things can always be better,” Baruchel told VOXXI about his character.
“He’s very loyal and true, I adore playing him.”
Hiccup is joined in the journey by his courageous best friend Astrid, portrayed by Honduran actress America Ferrera, who says she has many similarities with her character.
“She’s definitely the competitive part in me. I’m a pretty competitive person, from a very young age,” Ferrera said. “I wouldn’t say I’m brave when it come to physicality, but I’m pretty brave emotionally…I take risks,” she added.
“How To Train Your Dragon 2,” premiering in the U.S. on June 13th, delivers a beautiful message for every family.
“The message in the movie is a lot about how we are equal parts to our parents and people that we come from, it’s a story about finding your way,” director Dean DeBlois said to VOXXI.
