Gabriel Coronel pours his heart out in ‘Yo Te Ame’
Gabriel Coronel is quickly becoming one of the most talked about artists in the Latin entertainment biz. The dirty blond star with hypnotizing light eyes has been spotted in Spanish soap operas, and is now captivating fans with his music.
Coronel, 27, was born in Venezuela but resides in Miami, Fla. to pursue his career in entertainment, which began in 2007 with minor roles in novelas.
It wasn’t until 2012 that he had his first leading role as Mauricio in Telemundo’s drama “Relaciones Peligrosas.”
Now, the young stud has ventured into singing and after a successful debut album in 2013 with “Desnudo,” he is hyped and all talks about his second single, “Yo Te Ame.”
“‘Yo Te Ame’ is a piece of my past in the present. It’s a personal experience,” Coronel told VOXXI. “Everyone has good and bad moments in love.”
His unfortunate broken heart sparked this romantic ballad, which is also his favorite song in the album.
“I dealt with a lot of heartache but it was a learning process,” he added.
Coronel, however, is having a blast in this new stage of his life, especially with the release of “Desnudo,” which has allowed him to travel around the world.
His strong fan base, which has adopted the name “coronelistas,” are found everywhere around the world, but primarily in Mexico and Puerto Rico.
Coronel will be visiting Mexico and Puerto Rico, as well as other countries such as Ecuador, Peru and Dominican Republic while promoting his second single.
“It’s important for me to go to these countries and meet my fans, and be able to kiss them and hug them,” Coronel said to VOXXI.
“I want them to know that there is a person behind all of this support that I receive.”
Q&A with Gabriel Coronel
VOXXI: Where do you see yourself in the future after “Desnudo”?
Gabriel Coronel: My vision and my dream is to be singing on stage with a band behind me, a long repertoire and my fans singing along to my songs. For now, I want to continue acting and singing, and be able to mix both worlds.
VOXXI: What artists would you like to collaborate with?
Gabriel Coronel: Juan Luis Guerra, that would be awesome, and sing with Franco De Vita would be special. I would also like to sing with female singers such as Joy from Jesse and Joy and Laura Pausini.
VOXXI: If you could do only one for the rest of your life, acting or singing?
Gabriel Coronel: Singing. Music has been a passion of mine since I was a child. It has stolen all of my thoughts.
VOXXI: What three songs are currently sounding in your playlist?
Gabriel Coronel: My song “Yo Te Ame,” I love it. “Talvez” from Ricky Martin because it’s a wonderful ballad. I also like “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, it’s fun.

VOXXI: If you could take one album to a deserted island, which one would it be?
Gabriel Coronel: I don’t remember the name of it right now, but I will definitely take a Marc Anthony album.

Gabriel Coronel: Consistency, discipline, responsibility, punctuality, and knowledge.
