Dirty home? Here are 5 simple tips to keep it clean
Everybody likes a cozy, comfortable, and clean house. A neat home is more inviting and will improve the quality of the time you spend in it. Trsut me, I would know.
But the truth is that maintaining an impeccable place is not an easy task when you have a fast-paced lifestyle.
You don’t have to worry, though, because Pulso POP is here to make your life a little bit easier with five simple ideas that can help you keep your lair shining.
Clean your home and make mama happy!
1) Implement the bare foot rule
Try placing a small shoe cabinet next to the entry door where you, your relatives and visitors can deposit the shoes as soon as they step in. Or can hang a shoe bag behind your door if you live in a small apartment. As a result, you’ll do less sweeping! It may take some time for friends and visitors to adapt to the idea but most of them will love it in the long run. Make sure you provide clean slippers for those who don’t like walking on bare foot or have holes in their socks. Remember, comfort first.
This is a practice widely spread in oriental countries and it’s been around for centuries for a reason. In countries like Thailand, for example, people believe shoes bring unclean/bad energy into the house manifested as dirtiness and dust.
2) Get rid of all useless items
Get rid of those decorations and furniture that don’t have any purpose, have lost beauty or are outdated. Not only will you have less stuff to clean, but also only have less stuff to clean but also your place will take a whole different dimension becoming more delightful to the eye. How cluttered the space is has an unconscious psychological impact in your mind even reflecting in the mood sometimes. Take this as the perfect excuse to donate to someone who could need and use what you don’t.
3) Use a towel to dry
When cleaning the floor, spray it with a cleaning/disinfecting product such as Windex. Dry it directly with a towel instead of using the traditional wet-and-wring mopping method. This fast technique demands less effort and is very effective killing germs. Needless to say, your floor will shine in no time!
4) Organize the mail daily
Once you’re in, open your correspondence and determine which way each document is taking: garbage, filing, or pending. So, you can use a discrete paper tray placed by your computer desk or any other strategic spot for documents that require later review. File the ones for filing and throw the junk mail (including all envelopes you already opened) in the garbage right away. I’m pretty sure many of you have found yourselves spending hours checking and shredding junk mail. Not funny, right?
Paper is one of the things that make a place look filthier not to mention roaches. Going paperless with your bills may also save trees. Hey, it’s just a matter of habit.
5) Get used to handling dirtiness A.S.A.P
News flash! The more you wait, the more time and work you have to invest in it later. Wash as many utensils as you can while still cooking so you don’t accumulate. This can shorten the time you spend washing dishes later. And don’t forget to clean or pick up any spill before it dries or stains your floor before it becomes a harder task. Timing is key to save time.
