Man Sets Christmas Fundraiser For Slums In Puerto Rico
Earlier this year, an aspiring film director called “Silent,” visited one of the most notorious slums of Puerto Rico to film his first-ever documentary. After living one month in La Perla, Silent realized that his mission in the island was much more than just making a movie.

“It opened my eyes and absolutely changed my life. I witnessed a lot of love, pride and humbleness between the people,” he told Pulso POP, adding that the goal of his documentary is to shed light on the positivity within the community, which is primarily known for its negative aspects.
With the holidays just around the corner, Silent set up a Christmas fundraiser to help the children and families of La Perla. “La Perla has a community center that houses pretty much all activities (karate, computer, arts & crafts etc.) and we would love to gift the kids and adults gym and sporting equipment to help keep them active,” he said, assuring that with the money, he will buy basketballs, footballs, bats and baseballs, roller skates, jump ropes, weights, and more. He also wants to buy a printer and computer for the facility.
