Banda El Recodo celebrates their Billboard Latin Music nominations by singing a classic ranchera of Vicente Fernandez. True story.
The lively energy of Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizarraga undoubtedly set the mood for the Latin Billboard awards backstage at the rehearsals, as the popular Mexican ensemble celebrated in Miami.
“We are very happy, we have two and we come to win!,” singer Geovanni Mondragon told VOXXI during the rehearsal.
The band is finalist for two categories at the 2014Billboard Latin Music Awards: Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Duo or Group and Regional Mexican Songs Artist of the Year, Duo or Group.
Carlos Perez, vocalist, added: “We are extremely glad with our audience and the people from the Billboard for allowing us to be here.”
They are in the race with other great artists, such as Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga, La Arrolladora Banda el Limon de Rene Camacho, Banda Carnaval and Voz de Mando.
The enthusiastic gang even celebrated the nominations by serenading VOXXI with a classic rancherafrom no other than Vicente Fernandez.
Trumpet player Mario Alvarado did not hesitate to show us his best “Chente” interpretation of “Por Tu Maldito Amor,” but left us wanting more.
The banda music and ranchera group from Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico, celebrated 75 years of musical trajectory in 2013.
We wish this new generation of Banda el Recodo all the luck with their nominations during the Billboard Latin Music Awards airing at 8 p.m. Thursday April 24th on Telemundo.
