Alexis y Fido in it for the Latin Billboard award | VIDEO
They are talented, they are hot and they are “Los Reyes del Perreo” responsible for some of the sizzling hits on the radio. It’s a no brainier why Alexis y Fido were nominated for five Latin Billboard awards, and VOXXI got the one-on-one scoop with the duo.
“Miami’s ‘calorcito’ is very similar to our island, we feel at home here,” the duo told VOXXI during the Billboard Latin Music Awards Conference.
The Puerto Rican boys are in their home-away-from-home with the hopes to win one of their five nominations at the Latin Billboard awards on Thursday, April 24th.
“We are very happy,” Fido said. “This is compensating all of our hard work that we’ve put in making music. We already feel winners just by being nominated.”
The “Ojos Que No Ven” singers are nominated for Best Duo or Group for Latin Pop Songs Artist of the Year, Tropical Songs Artist of the Year and Latin Rhythm Songs Artist of the Year.
Their catchy song “Rompe la Cintura” is nominated for Latin Rhythm Song of the Year and their record label Wild Dogz Music is also nominated.
Although it’s ideal for the guys to take home all five titles, Alexis admitted that it would be “super rico” if they nab the award for their record label.
“It’s a dream to be nominated with your company. If we win it would be a motivation for our record label,” he said. Both Alexis and Fido are the CEO’s and co-founders of Wild Dogz Music.
Evidently, the duo recently released “La Escencia” through Wild Dogz Music and Warner Music Latina, a new album that grasps a mature Alexis y Fido.
“We’ve had many experiences from our previous work, and in this album we are more mature in lyrics and the quality of music,” Fido said. “The album has the ‘perreo’ of Alexis y Fido, the reggaeton boom, positive music and fusions.”
The urban duo, who concluded our VOXXI interview with a special rhyme to our readers, is currently promoting their latest album playing shows in several cities.
