Princess Elena, voiced by Miami-based Latina actress Aimee Carrero, is an adventurous young girl who is out to protect her kingdom from evil sorceress.
For Carrero, doing voice over for Disney’s first-ever Latina princess is a true honor. However, she hopes the animated show impacts its audience.
“I hope that children who watch the show understand that they are special,” she told Pulso POP. “I also hope that people who don’t know much about the Latino culture can see a lot of wonderful things about us,” she added.
