AB Quintanilla Gets New Selena Tattoo And It’s Everything! [PHOTO]

A.B. Quintanilla didn’t spend his 4th of July with the traditional fireworks and bbq at the beach (at least that’s what we think, but who knows). What we do know, however, is that he was in New Mexico getting tatted up on America’s birthday.

The 52-year-old music producer and bass player let his followers on social media know he was spending his long holiday weekend at Roswell, New Mexico. First thing on his list…get inked!

Quintanilla flaunted the three new tattoos he got during his stay in New Mexico. The first was an alien with the letter K, we speculate it represents K for all the kumbia groups he’s founded, most recently Elektro Kumbia. The second was a lightning bolt on his left cheek, right under his eye. For the record, this is the first time A.B. gets a tat on his face.

The third, and our favorite one of all, was a new tattoo honoring his late sister Selena Quintanilla. With this one he went a bit more adventurous and got her name on his head. “I would like to thank Max from Dutch Ink for showing love!!!,” he expressed of his tattoo artist. “I was long over due for a Selena Tattoo. Decided to go on the melon!!!,” he added.

On other news, Quintanilla also shared the heartbreaking news that he and his wife Rikkie were getting a divorce. He made the public statement on his social media Tuesday, asking all the fans to respect their privacy. “I announce that after 6 wonderful years together , Rikkie and myself have decided to end our marriage,” he confirmed on social media.

Fans immediately showed their support with comments such as “So sorry, I loved following you’ll! Be happy you are both still very blessed” and “Sorry A.B. Stay strong my guy. You been through worse.”
