Julio Iglesias will receive honorary degree from Berklee College of Music
(UPDATE: 05-11-15): On May 9th, Julio Iglesias received an honorary doctorate degree of music from Berklee College of Music. The Spanish singer said: “The most beautiful thing that has happened in my life as an artist is this honor from Berklee.” Congrats Dr. Iglesias!
With nearly five active decades in the music industry, there’s not doubting why Julio Iglesias is one of the top ten best-selling Artists of All Time. Needless to say, he’s also the No. 1 selling Latino Music Artist in History.
That’s why this Spanish crooner will receive an honorary degree from one reputed music school.

Iglesias, along with three other famous figures in the music industry, will receive an Honorary Doctor of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music during a commencement ceremony on May 9th.
You might be wondering “what’s so special about Enrique Iglesias‘ dad?”
Well, unless you’ve been living under a rock or have not stumble upon mom’s record collection, Iglesias has global music sales of over 300 million records and is responsible of classic hits such as “La Vida Sigue Igual” and “Hey!”
He can also woo the ladies in over 14 languages. Trust me, he’s a pretty big deal, especially in Latin America.
According to Berklee College of Music, this year’s honorary doctorate recipients –which includes Sony Music Entertainment’s CEO– “are being recognized for their achievements and influences in music, and for their enduring contributions to American and international culture.”
