Selena Quintanilla will tour in 2018 via a hologram
UPDATE 04-16-15: Suzette Quintanilla and Abraham Quintanilla elaborate more on “Selena The One” project and the Indie Gogo campaign in video below released Thursday, April 16th:
Many of us were left with the gustito of catching Selena Quintanilla live after she passed away on March 31st, 1995. I’m one of those people who never had the opportunity to enjoy Selena in concert.
But a new project on the way will soon change that, with the hopes of many fans of the “Amor Prohibido” singer to finally watch their beloved role model “live” and in “action”.

I swear, we’re not making this up. The project, called “Selena The One,” is in the works by the producers at Acrovirt, LLC and the Quintanillas.
The idea is to create the late Queen of Tejano in digital format, by developing a walking, talking, singing and dancing, digital embodiment of the legendary songstress, who passed away 20 years ago.
“Selena is a Latin American icon who was taken before her time. Acrovirt and the Quintanilla family are excited to announce that Selena will continue to share her creative talents with the world in a new innovative way,” said Terry Kennedy, Co-Founder, Acrovirt.
Acrovirt is working in collaboration with Selena’s immediate family and cutting-edge scientists to enable new productions for her many fans.
The company will also launch an Indiegogo campaign on April 16th (Selena’s birthday) with the goal to raise $500k.
“Selena The One,” which will include new songs and videos, and collaborations with current artists, is expected to go on tour in 2018. We suggest brushing up on your “washing machine” moves as of now.

Bringing celebrities back to life via a hologram has always caused a debate amongst fans. Some think it’s epic and brilliant, and others find it creepy and disrespectful. It was the case with Tupac at the 2012 Coachella Festival and Michael Jackson at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.
But I highly doubt any Selena fan will disagree with this project. After all, “anything for Salinasssss.”
