From Novelas To ‘Deadly Class,’ Maria Gabriela de Faría & Michel Duval Talk Latinx Representation [VIDEO]
Maria Gabriela de Faría and Michel Duval are kicking off the new year as on-screen boyfriend and girlfriend in Syfy’s new drama, Deadly Class.
In the new series, premiere Jan. 16, de Faría stars as Maria, who one-minute is an extrovert and an exhibitionist, and the next is murderous and crippled by rage but at their school, her instability is treated like a superpower. Duval stars as Maria’s boyfriend Chico, the scary son of a cartel drug lord and fellow student at Kings Dominion.

Deadly Class follows the story of Marcus (Benjamin Wadsworth), a teen living on the streets who is recruited into Kings Dominion, an elite private academy where the world’s top crime families send their next generations. Maintaining his moral code while surviving a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques and his own adolescent uncertainties soon proves to be vital.
Based on the best-selling 2014 Image Comics graphic novel by Rick Remender and Wes Craig, Deadly Class a coming-of-age journey full of ancient mystery and teen angst. The Syfy series stars Benjamin Wadsworth, Benedict Wong, Lana Condor, María Gabriela de Faría, Luke Tennie, Liam James, Michel Duval, Siobhan Williams and Sean Depner.
