The project is the product of the collaboration between Google Arts & Culture and a network of museums and experts from different parts of the world, who worked to gather the most representative works of art of the painter in one place. In it you can glimpse some pieces that, hardly, could be found in other parts of the world. It will also include elements belonging to private collections and that can be enjoyed online, such as the ‘View of New York’, produced in 1932 while Kahlo looked out the window of the Hotel Barbizon Plaza.
Visitors can also enjoy the creation process of the artist observing their unfinished works, some of which are sketched on the back of the finished pieces and which, until now, were hidden from the world.
The project includes 33 partners from 7 countries, more than 800 pieces, 20 super high resolution images created with Art Camera and 5 Street View tours. But that will not be all, the collection will also present hundreds of personal photographs, letters, diaries, costumes and accessories of Frida.
A total of 20 works of art have been captured in gigapixel resolution by Art Camera, many of which belong to private collections and which had never been digitized before. Now it will also be possible to explore the emblematic places of Frida Kahlo’s life using Street View and visit those that had an impact on her career, including the ‘Blue House’ where she was born, lived and died.
The project seeks to celebrate the legacy of Frida Kahlo and recognize her position as one of the most important figures in modern art. Users will know their deepest stories: from the impact they have had on fashion, music and dance to the influence they have had on other artists.

We also developed “Frida y yo”, a collaboration with the artist Alexa Meade, the singer Ely Guerra and the photographer Cristina Kahlo, which shows the inspiration that Frida Kahlo has awakened as a woman and creator in important representatives of art, music and the photography of the 21st century, both in Mexico and in the world.
