Kat DeLuna Reveals The One Thing You Never Noticed In ‘Whine Up’ Video [EXCLUSIVE]

Kat DeLuna’s life completely changed thanks to one summer hit that opened the doors for her worldwide. It was thanks to the success of “Whine Up,” released on Aug. 7, 2007, that DeLuna became a household name, representing Latinos at an international level.

In celebration of the song’s 10 year anniversary, PulsoPOP had a one-on-one with the 29-year-old Dominican singer, where she revealed the one thing you never noticed in the official music video.

“It was raining the whole time,” DeLuna told PulsoPOP. “The director killed it because he made it look sunny all the time, but it was raining for two days.” Due to the crappy weather, DeLuna also revealed that within the first two hours of being on set, one of the dancers stepped on her foot.

“One of my dancers was really, really bad. She stepped on my toe and I was limping the whole video shoot,” she said. “You can’t tell but every second, in every scene of the video, I’m in pain.”

In the clip, which shows a killer block party in New York City, DeLuna is representing her country by flaunting the Dominican Republic’s flag’s color in almost every clip.

Whether it was red, white, or blue on her clothes or jewelry, DeLuna said it was very important for her to rep her people in the video.

“I took a trip to the Dominican Republic and sang for my people and they were so happy. The support they gave me was incredible,” she said. “It’s important to remember that whoever you are, wherever you’re from, your background is that makes you, you,” she added.

Since releasing “Whine Up,” DeLuna has continued making music and achieving wonderful milestones in her career, such as her 2016 album “Loading” becoming #1 in Japan.
