Alejandro Sanz Is Named Latin GRAMMYs 2017 Person Of The Year
After nearly three decades of crooning his heart out with songs such as “Mi Marciana,” “Corazon Partio,'” and “Amiga Mia,” Alejandro Sanz takes the reign as the 2017 Latin Recording Academy’s Person of the Year.
The 18-time Latin GRAMMYs and three-time Recording Academy / GRAMMYs winner will be honored at a prestigious gala held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Sanz has been chosen as this year’s honoree for his artistry and substantial philanthropic contributions to organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, Save the Children and Greenpeace, among others.
“I’m honored to receive this recognition from the Latin Recording Academy,” said Alejandro Sanz. “I’m happy and excited to be able to experience what is sure to be a thrilling evening in the company of friends and colleagues. I have participated in some of these galas as a guest and it is a very special event within the celebrations surrounding the Latin GRAMMY Awards. I’m very grateful and can’t wait for the moment to arrive to discover all the surprises in store.”
This year’s star-studded gala will feature a concert tribute, including renditions of Sanz’ renowned repertoire by an impressive array of notable artists and friends.

The event precedes the 18th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, airing Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, 8–11 p.m. live on Univision.
