Vicente Fernandez is O.K. after emergency surgery
After being M.I.A in social media for nearly three weeks, Vicente Fernandez makes his comeback to Facebook with a rather concerning image —in a hospital bed, wearing a hospital gown.
It turns out that the famed Mexican ranchero and mariachi singer has been dealing with some health issues the past week, but has confirmed to his social media fans and followers that he’s A O.K.
In a statement issued by his reps, Don Fernandez had emergency abdominal surgery because of a ventral hernia. He underwent a successful surgery on March 22nd.
His prognosis is reserved due to the risks of a major medical procedure on a patient’s age and their pathological history. However, the 75-year-old singer and his medical team are optimistic. The GRAMMY-winning artist is expected to make a full recovery in his home.
After his emergency surgery, Chente posted this message and image on social media.
“I thank God for each day of life he gives me. I’ve always said that I’m very blessed for being able to enjoy my family, me people and the love of my audience,” he announced in Spanish. “Thank you for worrying about my health, here I am giving it my all.”
On that note, it’s safe to say that Fernandez sigue siendo el rey! Get well, Chente.
