Gustavo Cerati Honored With Own Stamp In Argentina
Argentina has just honored one of their greatest iconic rock stars with a new postal stamp.

The late Gustavo Cerati and frontman of the legendary Latin rock band Soda Stereo, was honored with his own postal stamp issued by Argentina’s postal service on October 9 as part of their “Popular Idols” series.
“It is an honor to pay tribute through this stamp to an artist who transcended borders and succeeded, and through his talent and popularity extended the influence of Latin American music,” said the postal service announcement on Facebook.
“From now on, this postal stamp will become a cultural vehicle that will travel the country and the world.” Cerati, who is the voice behind rock hits such as “Persiana Americana,” “Zoom,” and “Musica Ligera,” passed away on Sept. 4, 2014 at the age of 55.

Earlier this year, Cirque de Soleil announced plans for a Soda Stereo spectacular, to be staged in 2017, expected to launch in Argentina and later hit other Latin American countries and U.S. cities.
