Here’s why Pepe Aguilar’s collaboration with Los Bunkers will rock!
Pepe Aguilar has announced a new studio album is on its way and in it, he will unleash his inner rockstar.
Perhaps the idea of a reputable ranchero singer venturing to rock music might not sound convincing, but something tells that what Aguilar has up his sleeves is a promising production.

Besides, if Cristian Castro was able to go heavy metal, why can’t Pepe?!
The 46-year-old singer, whose birth name is Jose Antonio Aguilar, said that his upcoming studio album will feature many rock-inspired tunes in collaboration with Chilean band Los Bunkers and producer Yamil Rezc. In fact, the “Por Mujeres Como Tu” singer has already hit the recording studio and until now has recorded five tracks —some of which were composed by the South American rock band.
“There’s a lot of good vibes, everything runs smoothly and the best part is that it sounds great!,” Aguilar said according to Diario de Yucatan, stating that the collaboration happened unexpectedly. “I arrived with my songs, and all of a sudden a guitar riff over here, a drum beat over there and I said: ‘Let’s do this,'” he added.
We don’t doubt for a second that everything is running smoothly and that it sounds great! Besides, Los Bunkers are already pros at working with iconic figures —remember their amazing Silvio Rodriguez tribute album, “Musica Libre”? And that Aguilar has already ventured with new sounds and nailed it as a romantic, pop crooner?
Little did you know that Antonio Aguilar’s son was a roquero way before the mariachi suit and sombrero!

As a teenager, Aguilar was a rock music fan and had his band called “Equs.” Some of his musical influences include Pink Floyd and The Who among other rock bands. Nonetheless, he produced many songs in the ’90s, including for Julieta Venega.
Truth be told, Los Bunkers and Pepe Aguilar are in good hands and we can’t wait to rock n’ roll!
