Will Rodner Figueroa be recruited by Telemundo?
After getting fired from Univision for his inappropriate comments regarding First Lady Michelle Obama, word on the street is that Rodner Figueroa might head to Telemundo. You don’t say?
It’s speculated that Figueroa might find a new home in shows “Suelta La Sopa” or alongside Maria Celeste Arraras on “Al Rojo Vivo.”
However, TV personality Javier Ceriani –who was the first to break the news on Figueroa’s dismissal– stated that all the shows on the Telemundo network, including “Suelta La Sopa,” are not allowed to talk about Figueroa, reports Las Mañanitas.
Though the network has not confirmed it, Ceriani also mentioned that the Venezuelan fashion critic is expected to break his silence in an exclusive interview with Maria Celeste Arraras on “Al Rojo Vivo.” Other rumors point to Figueroa making his Telemundo debut at the 2015 Billboards Latin Music Awards show on April 30th.
It might seem like the ultimate betrayal if Figueroa heads to Univision’s rival network, but in case you didn’t know, Figueroa first worked in Telemundo prior to becoming a household name on Univision.
Figueroa was fired from Univision early March after comparing Mrs. Obama to an ape during an airing of “El Gordo y la Flaca.” The network expressed that his comments “about First Lady Michelle Obama were completely reprehensible and in no way reflect the values or opinions of Univision. As a result, Mr. Figueroa was immediately dismissed,”
Following the incident, Figueroa issued an open letter to Mrs. Obama with his sincerest apologies.
