Nicky Jam, Enrique Iglesias: A massive duo in ‘El Perdon’
It’s been one successful week for urban star Nicky Jam, who recently nabbed a YouTube Music Award as the only Latino –among 50 other celebs– at the ceremony. In celebration of the big event that took place early this week, Nicky also released the official music video for his single “El Perdon” featuring Enrique Iglesias.
Within just 24 hours of its launch, the video managed to nab over 1.5 millions views, leaving the Puerto Rican singer nothing but overwhelmed and grateful.
“Incredible, we’re going to reach 2 million likes in the first 24 hours. Every day, you guys [the fans] give me more courage to get inspired and give you the best of me,” Nicky wrote to his fans in Spanish on his official Facebook page.
Iglesias, who’s featured in this new version of “El Perdon,” was also stoked with the news, thanking his nearly 9 million followers on Twitter.
Nicky, 34, is the only Hispanic –among 50 finalists– to get the title at the 2015 YouTube Music Awards. Other global sensations in the list include Rihanna, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Pharrell Williams.
The 50 celebrities made it to the list for having high subscription numbers and the most views on their videos.
Embarking his career in 1994, Nicky Jam is cataloged as one of the pioneers of reggaeton music. He made a successful comeback with singles “Travesuras,” “Si Tu No Estas” and now “El Perdon.”
I can’t get enough of the song, and I definitely can’t get enough of these two Latino heartthrobs. Check out the music video for “El Perdon” below.
